This is one of the only journals that has not been edited from a Nazi perspective that shows the insight to how they fought in World War II. There are numerous sides of a story but often in history it is written by the victor and these perspectives are normally lost in time. It is important to learn about and preserve all perspectives in history the only way to prevent making the same mistakes is to learn how people made them in the first place. That is why I chose to tell this story as it shows that even regular people can get dragged into war over something that is not important to them and ultimately they don’t understand.

The Uyghurs are an ethnic Muslim minority in Northwest China, and since 2017, they have been victims of cultural genocide because of the Chinese government's efforts to eliminate their voice and culture. According to the UN, at least 1 million Uyghurs have been interned since 2017, in more than 85 identified concentration camps. Because of China's human rights violations, many have been calling to boycott the 2022 winter Olympics which will be held in Beijing.
